Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Bodrum Fine Arts Faculty Ceramics Department started education in 2018-2019. Our department aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of ceramics.
The purpose of the Ceramic Department program; the students have grasped the versatility and limits of the ceramic material, have the necessary knowledge and skills about the field, know the method to reach the knowledge, be aware of the importance of design and creativity and internalize creativity and develop their competencies in this subject; The aim of the course is to provide the students with the ability to adapt the knowledge and skills according to the sectoral and social needs, to adopt the principles of lifelong learning, to contribute to the environment where they live with flexible thinking capacity and solutions, to develop artistic sensibility, to be knowledgeable about work safety, art and scientific ethics, and to have creative and contemporary artists. .
Graduates of the Ceramics Department can be researchers in their fields, and they can work as an artist / designer in ceramics factories or in different sectors and they can also make academic careers. By establishing their own studios, they can create professional workspaces for them as free ceramic artists / designers.

Ceramic Art and Design Graduate Program; Based on the cultural richness and dynamics of the art of ceramics in the region, curriculum content has been prepared that can further develop and develop contemporary ceramic art and design in national and international dimensions and contribute to industry-designer cooperation.
Ceramic Art and Design program; is able to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge at the level of expertise in art and design, to be able to interpret, to create new information, to be flexible among the disciplines related to the field, to contribute to the field and to solve the problems. , by following the developments, in addition to these developments, their propositions; The course aims to educate artists and artisans who have the competence of being able to transfer them orally and in writing. Thus, the cultural heritage of the region will be culturally moved to the future with a contemporary approach.
